Being an athlete has always been a huge part of who I am. I grew up playing many different sports but focused on soccer and track in high school. Fun fact: I was a pole vaulter on the track team and absolutely loved the uniqueness and fun of this sport.
My family moved from Pennsylvania to Florida when I was 16 and I had a hard time adjusting from then until the time I was 19-20. A traumatic event happened when I was 19 and led to a significant loss of weight and confidence. At this time I weighed 105lbs and was extremely weak. I didn’t realize this was a result of my poor lifestyle and mental state until my loved ones started to point it out.
This was when I started to spend time in the gym and learn more about how I could better myself physically and mentally through staying active.
I fell in love with feeling strong and empowered and knew I wanted to share this feeling with as many women as possible. From here I I became a certified trainer, started working in a gym, and launched my online training business: KAMfit Training.
I’m passionate about training and teaching others about health and fitness because I’ve been on both sides and I know the ripple effect that strength training can have in someones life. Becoming stronger leads to confidence, empowerment, discipline, and perseverance – and not to mention a rockin’ body.
At this point in my journey, I’m so thankful for the opportunity to help women feel empowered through health and fitness and am just getting started!
